The Alumil Group established its first electrostatic paint line for non-ferrous metals in 1994 in the factory headquarters in Kilkis, Greece. Today, the total capacity of aluminium powder coating surpasses the 60.000 tons. Also, production facilities are established in Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia and Albania, thus making ALUMIL S.A the leading aluminium extrusion company in S.E. Europe.

All powder coating factories are certified with  ISO 14000, ISO 9001, while they are also certified from QUALICOAT and GSB. Additionally, separate facilities for painting the aluminium profiles with the "sublimation" technology DECORAL, are available.

Furthermore, all coating factories are cerified according to QUALICOAT's QUALIMARINE Certification. This certfies the process of chemical treatment of aluminium profiles in terms of better protection when aluminium constructions are been made near water.

Evolution of Powder Coating in Alumil

Alumil Group established its first electrostatic paint line for non-ferrous metals in July of 1994 in the factory headquarters in Kilkis, Greece. The horizontal paint line consists of three cabins and uses an operational system called "power free". With the installation of the first paint line Alumil was on its way to achieving a vision of continual expansion in developing business activities around the core business of aluminum extrusion.

Due to the increasing demands of aluminum extrusions and the powder coating of aluminum profiles, Alumil Group decided to invest in one of the largest vertical paint lines established in Greece. The vertical paint line began production in the summer of 1998 and considerably improved the quality as well as the quantity of the painted products. This paint line established the leading market position for Alumil Group both nationally as well as internationally. Thans to the increased production capacity from the new vertical paint line, Alumil Group was able to invest in two new paint lines to service the growing demand for multiple RAL colors. These horizontal paint lines were established in the years 2000 and 2001 consecutively.

In the constant effort to meet customer demands Alumil Group decided to install the first electrostatic paint line outside Greece. A horizontal paint line was established on January 2002 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Furthermore in the summer of 2002 two new paint lines were established in Bucharest, Romania and Xanthi, Greece. These investments substantiated Alumil Group as a new dynamic leader in the arena of powder coating within the European Community.

In 2003 Alumil Group penetrated the market of powder coating of steel and metal components. Its subsidiary, Metron, established a new horizontal paint line for various metal parts in Serres, Greece. This line is one of the largest in European Union.

In 2004 Alumil Group established a new horizontal paint line for non-ferrous metals in Tirana, Albania. Finally in 2005 a new horizontal paint line for non-ferrous metals was established in Belgrad, Serbia.

Every production line has a completely equipped laboratory in order to meet the international quality specifications set by GSB and Qualicoat. The quality control system begins with an evaluation of the raw materials (powder and chemicals) and continues with a sample evaluation every 20 minutes from the production line.
Automated processing is used with an on line 24 hour surveillance of all the critical parameters during the production process.  This guarantees consistent quality during the production process.
